MenoMate AI ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the MenoMate AI mobile application ("App").

By using MenoMate AI, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: Email address, name, and password (or Sign in with Apple token) when you create an account.
  • Health Profile: Menopause stage, age range, primary symptoms, medical conditions, medications, and health goals you enter during onboarding.
  • Symptom Logs: Daily symptom entries including symptom type, severity ratings (1–5), associated triggers, timestamps, and free-text notes.
  • Medication Records: Names, types, dosages, and frequencies of medications and supplements you log.
  • AI Conversations: Messages you send to and receive from the AI Coach, stored to maintain conversation history.
  • Daily Check-in Data: Mood, energy, and sleep ratings you log each day.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: App screens visited, features used, and session duration — used to improve the app experience.
  • Device Information: iOS version, device model, and app version for debugging and compatibility purposes.
  • Push Notification Tokens: If you grant permission, used to send reminders and check-in notifications.

Optional: Apple HealthKit Data

If you grant permission, MenoMate AI may read health data from Apple Health including sleep analysis, heart rate, and step count. This data is used solely within the app to personalise AI responses and pattern analysis. We do not write health data to Apple Health without your explicit action, and HealthKit data is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the MenoMate AI service
  • To generate personalised AI Coach responses based on your symptom history and health profile
  • To identify trigger patterns and correlations in your symptom data
  • To generate health reports you can share with your healthcare provider
  • To send push notifications and reminders (with your permission)
  • To process subscription payments through Apple's App Store
  • To respond to support requests
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data to train AI models for third-party use, serve advertising, or sell your personal information to any third party.

3. Third-Party Services

Supabase

We use Supabase as our backend database and authentication provider. Your data is stored in encrypted databases on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase is compliant with SOC 2 Type II standards. See Supabase Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect your Apple-anonymised user ID and subscription status. RevenueCat does not have access to your health data. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

OpenRouter / AI Provider

AI Coach responses are generated using OpenRouter, which routes requests to AI model providers. Messages sent to the AI Coach are processed to generate responses and are subject to the AI provider's data handling policies. We send only the context necessary to generate a useful response — we do not send your full account details or raw database contents.

Apple

If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple handles authentication and may share limited profile information (name, email) with us. Apple's privacy policy governs this process. App Store subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) and enforce Row Level Security (RLS) policies so that you can only access your own data. We implement access controls, regular security reviews, and principle of least privilege across our infrastructure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete all associated data within 30 days. You may request data deletion at any time through Settings → Delete Account in the app, or by emailing [email protected].

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

  • Access: Request a copy of your data (Settings → Export My Data)
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data (Settings → Delete Account)
  • Correction: Update your health profile and account information within the app at any time
  • Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out of notifications: Manage notification preferences in Settings → Preferences

7. Children's Privacy

MenoMate AI is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

8. International Users

MenoMate AI is operated from and data is stored within the European Union / United States. If you are located outside these regions, your information may be transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of MenoMate AI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
